Kalaikovil Academy of Fine Arts stands as a prominent institution in Toronto, known for its
comprehensive approach to fine arts education and cultural preservation. Originally founded in Sri Lanka in 1999 and established in Canada in 2001, Kalaikovil has since become a cornerstone for education, integrating traditional arts like Bharathanatyam, Miruthangam, and Flute with contemporary learning practices.
As the first authorized local training center for Annamalai University Canada Campus,
Kalaikovil has played a pivotal role in bridging cultural education with community service.With a student body numbering in the hundreds, the academy has consistently upheld high standards in Bharathanatyam, Miruthangam, and Flute instruction. Over its tenure, Kalaikovil has successfully conducted numerous significant events, including 20 Miruthangam Arangetrams, 64 Bharathanatyam Arangetrams, over 100 Salangai Poojas, 24 Isai Arpanamsand 21 Annual Shows, showcasing its commitment to nurturing and showcasing young talents.
Recognizing the importance of holistic education, Kalaikovil integrates cultural values withacademic rigor, emphasizing intellectual, social, physical, and emotional development. This approach is reflected in the establishment of the "Kalaikovil Young Artists Association," which brings together graduates from Bharathanatyam and Miruthangam fields. This association serves not only to develop leadership skills but also to refine artistic talents through various charitable and non-charitable events and talent shows. Our performances got staged acrossCanada and in foreign countries such as USA, India, England, Sri Lanka and Ecuador.
